It is astounding to me the quantity of money folks will spend on their pets. The dogs are my partner’s the cats are mine. It costs a great amount of cash to keep the four of them healthy, but we consider them part of the family so we take them to the vet yearly and feed them high quality food. Through the years we have experienced the death of animals and the heart ache that goes with that experience. As we get so attached to our animals we wish to ensure that we maintain their health. So long as they have fresh food and water every day and a clean litter box they are ecstatic. They are vaccinated annually during their routine examination. Going to the vet is kind of nerve wracking for them because they don’t like being in the automobile or their carriers. We don’t take them any place else because if we’re on holiday or business journey we have neighbors that come in to feed them. Dogs need to be given an opportunity to go out side or get out of their kennels on a consistent basis so they don’t make messes.
The vet bill is way higher for the dogs because they are outside animals and need additional protection from illness and insects.
This is a parasite that gets into the muscle of a dogs heart and weakens it till the dog can no longer function. Our dogs are in a massive dog house next to a wooded area.
There are several mosquitoes from April thru October. We start them on heartgard for dogs at the start of April before the first mosquitoes hatch and keep on giving it to them till the end of November . We live in Minnesota so that the mosquitoes die off during the winter months.
We use the heartgard for dogs that is given in monthly doses. There’s also a choice available for daily doses. When heartgard for dogs came on the market it was available only in the daily dose, it wasn’t always easy to recollect to give them the tablets. With the monthly dose we have them on a schedule that on the first day of the month they get the dose wanted to keep them safe.
